The location of Ras Al-Khair lies within the Eastern Province, known as the economic engine of the Kingdom, due to the ample availability of energy feedstuffs. As the most industrialized region in Saudi Arabia, it contributes 60% of the Kingdom’s GDP. 

 

The province also contains the majority of the Kingdom's oil and gas reserves and, therefore, is home to several industries including petrochemicals and chemicals.
